Day 1!

 Hello! 

Today is May 10, the first day of senior project! I woke up at 8:30 so that we could be ready for our first walk with Joe, Dan Mori's dog, at 9:00. We walked Joe Mori, Stanley Grotnes, Comet Will, and Orwell Dickman. Today I walked a total of 20,000 ish steps! Joe and Stanley were very good for us, Comet and Orwell gave us a bit more of a hard time because they are younger, but they were cute, so we didn't mind. I can't wait for tomorrow! We worked on our project in some way for 5.5 hours today. Here are pictures of Joe and Stanley, for good luck.

    Thank you for getting Comet out there! He was a much more mellow pup in the afternoon thanks to the midday exercise. A tired dog is a happy dog!

Weekly Reflection 1!

  This week was so much fun! We have gotten to walk a lot of the on-campus and off-campus dogs, who are all very cute and nice! We have learned so much about each of the dog’s personalities and if they can be on or off-leash, if they can be around other dogs, if they know their way around campus, or if they are food motivated. This week, the dog that impressed me the most, from his cuteness to his ability to walk with us and being a good dog all the time, was Stanley. Stanley was always so excited to come outside with us and walk around, stopping for smells a lot. He comes to the door willingly and allows us to put on his leash for our walks. I loved what we were doing. I have always had a passion for animals and being able to spend almost every waking moment with them has been so nice, especially because I get to be at Proctor while I am doing it. Day 8!

 Today we woke up at 8:30 and began this beautiful 80-degree day with Mac Kidder at 9. We then took Cricket and Fleur Fairbrother for a walk, and they are two of the best dogs I think I have ever walked. Fleur chases balls and can be off-leash confidently, and Cricket is sweet and old and never pulls on the leash. They are truly perfect dogs. We then walked Stanley, who is always a delight, followed by Comet Will. We motivated Comet with training treats today and he was AMAZING. He walked right next to us the whole way! Small steps! At 4:30, right before our final walk of the day, I got myself knee-deep into a game of Catan with Saul and Jasper, but Jaime was a champ and took Mindy and Rocky Wamaru on her own, so I could focus on winning. (Unfortunately, I still got absolutely demolished by Jasper) We worked for 5.5 hours today!

Day 3!

 Hello!  Today was (again) almost identical to yesterday. We started our morning off taking Mac Kidder out for a stroll, followed by Cricket and Fleur Fairbrother. After that, we got our regular coffees and came back to the dorm for film review and a moment to breathe. Then we continued at 10:45 with Stanley Grotnes and spent some quality time with one of our favorites. We then walked Comet Will starting at 12:30 until 1:00, until an abrupt message about a 1 o'clock practice start time made us end slightly early. We then enjoyed sports and finished the day off with two of the best behaved, most elegant, majestic dogs I have ever seen, Mindy and Rocky Bunten-Wamaru. Today my Fitbit let me know that I walked 21,267 steps, about 9.43 miles. At this rate, I might fit into my graduation outfit! (just kidding) We worked for 5.5 hours today. Have a good day!
